UP govt eases off FAR for builders
Lucknow, Jun 25 (UNI) In a major relief to builders and real estate developers, the Uttar Pradesh government has amended the Integrated Township policy with relaxation in the Floor Area Ratio (FAR).
Now the policy would concentrate on the vertical development of the township rather than going horizontal, in view of the growing scarcity of space in urban areas.
State Cabinet Secretary Shashank Shekhar Singh said the Cabinet has approved the new policy today.
''In the new amended policy the FAR has been relaxed so that the developers can construct high-rise buildings in order to cope with the growing scarcity of land in the urban areas,'' he said.
Meanwhile the government has also decided to appoint teachers on contract basis in the government-run institutes, where SC/ST students were being coached for IAS/IPS and other competitive examinations.
About 700 teachers would be appointed on contract basis for such institutions run by the Social Welfare Department.
