Tax on petrol and diesel reduced in C'garh, LPG cylinder tax free
Raipur, Jun 25 (UNI) The Chhattisgarh government today reduced tax on petrol and diesel by three per cent and made LPG cylinder tax-free to cushion consumers from recent fuel price hike.
''The tax on petrol and diesel has been reduced by three per cent, while LPG has been made tax-free,'' Commercial Tax Minister Amar Agrawal told reporters here today.
Consequently, prices of petrol would come down by Rs 1.25 to Rs 50.89 per litre from the existing rate of Rs 52.14. Diesel would come down by 92 paise to Rs 37.71 from Rs 38.63 per litre.
LPG would see a price reduction of Rs 13.61 to Rs 340.24 from the current Rs 353.85 per cylinder, he added.
The decision was taken during a meeting with Chief Minister Raman Singh. The new prices would come into effect from midnight, the Minister added.
