THree injured in gang war firing
New Delhi, Jun 24 (UNI) In an apparent gang rivalry case, three people were injured in indiscriminate firing by four motorcycle-borne assailants in Shahdara area of north-east Delhi.
While Ahmed Ali, a lawyer, escaped the firing his brother and two others were injured in the firing, the police said.
Of the three injured, admitted to the G T B Hopsital, the condition of Hashim, who was hit by bullets on his chest, stomach and leg, was serious.
The three injured -- Hashim, his relative Intezar and neighbour Abid -- along with Ahmad Ali were at their Shahdara residence last night when four men on two motorcycles came and fired indiscrminately at them.
Hashim was hit by five bullets and Intezar and Abid received two bullets each in the firing.
Ahmed Ali, who said the attackers were from a criminal gang, also fired from his licenced revolver in return, though no injury has been reported from the rival gang.
A case has been registered and investigations are on police added.
Sources said Ahmed Ali and the injured too were from a known criminal gang who was instrumental in the death of the head of the rival gang which carried out yesterday's attack.
