Sugar prices down on larger stock arrivals
Navi Mumbai, Jun 24 (UNI) Sugar prices suffered a setback today due to renewed selling pressure by stock holders in the face of better stocks arrivals from co-operative mills, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants Association said.
Small and medium grades dropped by Rs ten each per quintal on sluggish demand by bulk consumers and retailers, traders said.
In ex-mill, both small and medium grades, however, remained unchanged on moderate demand by stockists, traders added.
Following are the spot wholesale rates of sugar per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,440/1,510, Medium grade: Rs 1,474/1,575.
Ex-mill small grade: Rs 1,440/1,470 and medium grade: Rs 1,475/1,525.
