Sikh community blocks train over Mumbai incident

Jalandhar, Jun 24 (UNI) Protesting against the Mumbai incident, Sikh community today blocked Jalandhar-bound DMU train at Basheerpura railway crossing in the city.

Shouting slogans and demanding immidiate arrest of Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmit Ram Rahim Singh, the protestors burnt his effigy and blocked the Pathankot-Jalandhar DMU train for few minutes before being chased away from the track by the GRP personnels.

The Sikhs were protesting over the firing incident in Mumbai, in which one person was killed and three others were injured when the security guard of Ram Rahim Singh fired at Sikh protestors last week.

The protestors demanded that the Dera head be booked under section 302 of the IPC for killing Balkar Singh and injuring other community members.
