Four died, 8 injured and a hotel gutted in Kashmir
Srinagar, Jun 24 (UNI) One person was electrocuted and three others were killed and eight injured in road accidents in the Kashmir valley overnight, official sources said today.
They said an electric wire fell at village Krad in south Kashmir district of Anantnag, causing death of Mohammad Sultan Itoo and injuring another person.
Two vehicles collided near Nilgrat, Sonmarg, on Srinagar-Baltal road last evening. One of the vehicle carrying Amarnath pilgrims fell into river Sindh resulting in on the spot death of three persons and injuries to six others, they added.
The deceased were identified as Durjan Luchman Gurang, son of Lachman Gurang and Nirish Kumar Kirpania, son of Sangath, resident of Jallandhar and driver Imtiyaz Ahmad Thakur, resident of Nowgam Kanipora, Srinagar, sources said.
The injured were admitted to different hospitals, they added.
A woman was injured when she was hit by a vehicle at Pulwama. She was hospitalised.
Fire broke out in hotel Paradise at Boulvard on the bank of Dal Lake causing extensive damage to second storey of the building.
The cause of the fire was not known, they said adding no one was injured.
