Hooda lays claim to taking Haryana to the top
Jind, June 22 (UNI) Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda claimed that unprecedented development had taken place in Haryana during the last three years.
Haryana is first among the states with a per capita investment of Rs 78,500, he said while addressing a training camp of Congress workers organised at Uchana in this district yesterday evening.
He said that under the dynamic leadership of UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the Central Government had created history by waiving off agricultural loans of farmers to the tune of Rs 71,000 crore.
Refering to the energy needs of the country, Mr Hooda laid stress on the need for signing the nuclear deal with the United States (US). The welfare of the country cannot be achieved until and unless politicians rise above party politics and their selfish interests, he added without making any references.
Mr Hooda said that the Congress party had its own ideology which lays stress on politics based on ethics and issues. Congress workers were the backbone of party and it was their duty to propagate the policies and programmes of the government.
The Chief Minister said that those leaders who had left the Congress party for one reason or the other, were again welcome to rejoin the party. He urged the Congress workers to work with misssionary zeal for the betterment of people.
Finance Minister Birender Singh, who had organised the training camp, said that the Congress Party was committed to the welfare of comman man. He said that this camp would help the workers in understanding the polices and programmes of the state government.
Mr Singh said that the governement had done a lot in providing qualitative education to the youth by implementing the semester and edusat system and had also increased the number of seats in technical institutions.
The Finance Minister said that the state government had reduced the prices of diesel and LPG so that the comman man could get some respite. He maintained that the price of diesel was the lowest in Haryana. .
Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee President Phool Chand Mullana urged the workers to associate themselves with the people and uphold the old traditions of the Congress Party. While enlisting the achievements made by the present government, he said that a new era of development had ushered in Haryana during the past three years.
