Amarnath yatris can use satellite, cellular and landline phones

Srinagar, Jun 22 (UNI) The yatris, undertaking the pilgrimage to the holy Amarnath shrine in South Kashmir Himalayas, can now remain in contact with their family members through satellite, cellular and landline phones.

A Press Information Bureau (PIB) spokesman said today the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has provided phone facilities at all halting station enroute the cave shrine and near the cave for the pilgrims.

He said the yatris can use the cellular and landline phones at Baltal base camp and Chandanwari on traditional Pahalgam route.

However, at Panjtharni, Poshpatri, Sheshnag and Holy cave, the yatris can use BSNL satellite phone service, he said.
