Rangasamy supporters go on rampage over rumours of resignation

Puducherry, Jun 21: Agitated over the rumours that Chief Minister N Rangasamy is all set to resign following the party high command holding talks with him in New Delhi in the wake of of revolt raised by his Cabinet colleagues, his supporters went on rampage at Thattanchavady here tonight.

The supporters of Rangasamy, who took to the streets, ransacked shops and other establishments and pelted stones at some medical shops.

Police pickets have been posted in the Thattanchavady constituency to control the agitators.

Meanwhile, following the rumours that the supporters are planning to attack the residence of Union Minister of State for Planning and Parliamentary Affairs V Narayansamy in protest against his alleged involvement in the developments, heavy police security has been provided outside his residence.
