Farmers welcome inclusion of Ginger crop in crop insurance scheme
Nahan, Jun 21 (UNI) Ginger growers of Shillai, Renuka, Rajgarh areas of sirmour district expressed great satisfaction on the decision of the Himachal Pradesh Government for including Ginger crop in the crops insurance scheme alongwith maize, paddy and potato.
The farmers said that they were facing the great losses due to natural calamities and rhizome-rot disease for the last many years to ginger crops.
The state government had extended the crops insurance scheme to ginger crops damaged due to fire, flood, storm, hails and rhizome-rot disease.
