Robbers steal Rs 1.59 lakh from educational institute
Kolhapur, Jun 20 (UNI) A gang of about seven unidentified dacoits today looted Rs 1.59 lakh from an educational institute here.
The gang members entered the building of Tararani Vidhyapeet, located in the city's Rajrampuri area, early morning and broke open seven safe lockers and stole Rs 1.59 lakh cash, police said.
When an on-duty security guard tried to stop them, the gang members eat him up, before fleeing in a waiting vehicle.
Vidyapeet's women hostel chief Madhumalati Mandre registered a complaint of robbery and further investigations were on, the sources added.
