Reservation of Gujjars in Rajasthan a good decision: Munde

Mumbai, Jun 20 (UNI) Hailing the Rajasthan government's decision to give special reservation status to the Gujjar community, BJP National General Secretary Gopinath Munde today said the decision was a long due one.

Mr Munde, addressing the media here, said according the special reservation status to the Gujjars by the Rajasthan government was a right decision, as the schedule caste reservation can be accorded only by the Central government.

''Since the state government does not have the right to grant SC status, the special OBC status for the Gujjars is an ideal one,'' he said.

The BJP leader said only Maharashtra has four reservations like the SC, ST, OBC and Nomadic Tribes and the Rajasthan government has followed the trend of the state.
