Oppressed sections to be brought to the main stream of the society

Ara, Jun 20 (UNI) Union Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Meera Kumar today announced to bring the oppressed sections in the main stream of the society.

Ms Kumar told UNI here that the Centre has made several policies to bring the oppressed sections in the main stream of the society and for improving their educational scenario the Union government was providing scholorship to 37 lakh SC and ST students in the country.

She said the government has also decided to bear the educational expenditure of the students of the oppressed section persuing higher education in private institutions. The government was also extending financial help to the dalit students studying in abroad, she added.

She reiterated that the government had also scrapped the loan of the farmers and had taken several steps for uplift of the backwards.
