HC quashes order against Vakkom
Kochi, Jun 20 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today quashed the Vigilance Court order directing a preliminary inquiry into the allegations that former Minister Vakkom Purushothaman and his relatives had acquired wealth disproportionate to their known sources of income.
Mr Justice A Ramkumar also directed that all further proceedings in the case pending before the lower court shall be dropped.
The complaint before the lower court is also dismissed, he said.
The Judge observed that the Vigilance had filed a report on November 14, 2006 stating that there was no basis for allegations against the former Minister.
In the light of that report the proceeding against Mr Purushothaman shall not be allowed to continue, he ruled.
