Badal condemns firing by security guard of Dera Sacha Sauda chief

Chandigarh, Jun 20 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has strongly condemned the firing by security guard of Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh at Mumbai today, in which a sikh protestor was killed and two others were injured.

Mr Badal, who got this information in Amritsar, rang up Maharashtra chief minister Vilas Rao Desh Mukh and the state DGP, asking them to immediately book and arrest the culprit responsible for this tragic incident.

He impressed upon them the need to take effective measure to maintain peace and safeguard for life and property of minority sikh community in Maharashtra.

Mr Badal also called upon people to maintain peace and communal harmony at all cost. ''No one should be allowed to vitiate the hard earned atmosphere amity and peace in the country'', said Mr Badal in a statement released here this evening.
