Rahul Gandhi B'day celebrated, wished luck to become PM
Amethi/Lucknow, Jun 19 (UNI) The 39th birthday of Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi was today celebrated with great enthusiasm in Uttar Pradesh, especially in his parliamentary constituency Amethi, with people wishing him luck in becoming the country's Prime Minister in the near future.
In Amethi, Congress leaders and workers distributed fruits and sweets among the poor and needy.
People also wished Rahul a long life and hoped he would becasue the Prime Minister of the country soon.
Rahul became a member of the Lok Sabha from the Amethi constitutency in the 2004 general elections after he joined active politics.
In Lucknow, UPCC president Rita Bahuguna Joshi, Congress legislature party leader Pramod Tiwari and former UP Chief Minister Ram Naresh Yadav, were among the other leaders who were present at the state party headquarters to celebrate the occasion.
Talking to media, Ms Joshi said party workers and even the common man wanted to see Rahul as the PM.
Later, foods and fruits were distributed among the poor, while Congress workers and leaders offered 'ladoos' to each other.
