Modi appears in court for violation of model code of conduct

Bhagalpur, Jun 19 (UNI) Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi today appeared before the first class judicial magistrate and was granted bail in connection with alleged violation of model code of conduct during by-election to Bhagalpur Lok Sabha seat in 2004.

Magistrate Manoj Kumar granted bail to Mr Modi in connection with the alleged violation of model code of conduct during the 2004 Lok Sabha by-election to Bhagalpur parliamentary seat.

A case in this connection was registered at Shahkund police station charging Mr Modi with giving permission to his party workers to paste posters at public places without obtaining permission from the concerned authorities.

Mr Modi was a BJP candidate for the by-election to Bhagalpur Lok Sabha seat.
