Birthday of Rahul Gandhi celebrated in Pondy

{image-rahul gandhibday23_19062008.jpg news.oneindia.in}Puducherry, Jun 19: Feeding the poor and distribution of sweets marked the 39th birthday celebrations of AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi in the Union Territory today.

Volunteers of Rahul Gandhi Desiya Peravai, celebrating Rahul's birthday for one week pulled the golden chariot at the famous Manakula Vinayagar temple here after a special pooja to the deity today. Special poojas were also performed in several temples here. The Peravai volunteers also organised feeding the poor and distributed sweets at orphanages and leprosy centers here.

The Students Congress gave away new dress, soap, powder, rubber sheet to the mothers of infants born at the Government Maternity hospital here to mark the occasion.
