3 BJP men injured in firing by SAD workers
Tarn Taran, Jun 19 (UNI) Agitated over the BJP's poster put up for the Municipal Council election, Shiromani Akali Dal workers fired at BJP activists in which two BJP activists were injured in the district yesterday.
According to police sources, in the district's ward No 19, where Municipal Council elections are to be held, the supporters of SAD's former councillor Tarsem Singh objected over putting up of BJP's poster in front of SAD's. This led to protest by BJP workers after which some SAD workers started firing in which BJP's Ravinder, Manjeet and Bitto were injured. The three injured have been admitted to civil hospital.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal who was in Amritsar to attend a function, said that such incidents generally happen during elections as political party workers got carried away while campaigning. ''SAD has no differences with BJP and such incidents would not affect the relationship between the two parties.'' UNI XC PS RL KN2055
