25 Punjab gymnasts to participate in National Youth Games
Chandigarh, Jun 19 (UNI) The Punjab Gymnastic Assocation has selected a 25-member team for participation in the first National Youth Games to be organised in Bangalore from July 22 to 29.
PGA secretary PS Virk said here today that the team was selected on the basis of trials held at Gurdaspur on June 18. The selected gymnasts will attend two coaching camps before the National Youth Games. The first coaching camp will be organised from June 21 to July 5 and the second coaching camp will be held from July 8 to 17.
The coaching camps will be held at Jalandhar for boys (artistic) and at Gurdaspur for girls (artistics). The camp for girls (rhythmic) will be held at Amritsar The squad: Boys (artistic): Manpreet, Arun, Mandeep, Deepak, Rohit and Gaurav (Jalandhar), Lovepreet and Gaurav (Ludhiana), Sunil (Patiala), Sanjeev (Amritsar), Jagjit (Gurdaspur).
Girls (artistic): Naginder, Sarabjit, Gulwinder, Kanika, Santosh, Kawaljeet, Varinder, Simranjit (Gurdaspur), Sangeeta Kumari and Sangeeta Chouhan (Patiala) Girls (rhythmic): Keerat, Ria, Manveet, Muskan (Amritsar) and Prabjot (Patiala).
