Waltair division of ECR earns higher revenue
Visakhapatnam, Jun 18 (UNI) Divisional Railway Manager of East Coast Railway (Waltair), Inder Ghosh has said the division had earned a revenue of Rs 2,571.67 crore, in the financial year ending this March.
The earnings was up by 11.23 per cent over the corresponding period last year, he told newspersons here yesterday.
The Visakhapatnam Port Trust and the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant have unloaded 17.85 million tonnes and 13.47 million tonnes of Inward Traffic in 2007-08, as against 14.06 and 13 million tonnes respectively during 2006-07.
The division had earned a revenue of Rs 163.25 crore through sale of tickets in 2007-08, registering 15.6 per cent growth over last year, he added.
