UPA-Left meet on nuke deal postponed till June 25
New Delhi, Jun 18 (UNI) The crucial meeting of the UPA-Left panel on the nuclear deal was postponed today by a week.
Last ditch efforts by the government seem to have failed to persuade the Left parties to allow it to approach the IAEA for a safeguard agreement that would let India conduct nuclear trade with Russia and France.
CPI general secretary A B Bardhan confirmed to UNI about the postponement of the meeting saying that it had been postponed ''for a week only''.
''Now the meeting will take place on June 25'', Mr Bardhan disclosed.
