NHRC to ascertain cause of Shahidpur fire

New Delhi, Jun 18 (UNI) The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) today decided to ascertain the cause of fire at JJ Colony in Shahidpur Basti on June 14.

Responding to a petition filed by Rashtriya Shoshit Parishad, the Commission decided to ascertain the cause of inferno.

The petition blamed the DRM of the Northern railways for the fire. The police accompanying him set the jhuggis ablaze, it charged.

The NHRC issue notices to the DRM, DCP, Secy Urban Development Ministry to report within two days.
