Former ministers gunman booked for losing service pistol
Fatehgarh Sahib, June 18 (UNI) A Punjab Armed Police (PAP) constable has been booked under section 409, IPC, which relates to criminal breach of trust by public servant.
The Bassi Pathana police registered a case against the constable on a complaint by Commandant, 82nd BN PAP, Chandigarh.
Police sources here today said that constable, Jagmohan Singh was posted as gunman with senior Congress leader and former minister Jagmohan Singh Kang. During the minister's visit in November, 2004 to Bassi Pathana town of the district, the constable reportedly lost his service pistol along with 11 cartridges.
Sources said that efforts were made to trace the pistol and cartridges, but in vain. An inquiry was conducted in the case but after receiving a letter from the 82nd BN Commandant, the Bassi Pathana police registered the case against the constable.
