Farmer falls into well during bullock cart festival, dies

Gulbarga, Jun 18 (UNI) The bullock cart carnival ended in a tragic note for a farmer when he fell into a well after being accidentally 'nudged' by his ox in Honnakiranigi village in the district today.

Police said the carnival had attracted a large number of farmers who came on their bullock carts. When the ill fated Nagappa (26) stopped by a well to draw water for his animals, he was pushed accidentally by on of the two oxen and he fell into the deep well.

The farmer was injured seriously due to the fall had died by the time he was fished out of the well by other farmers, police added.
