CM convenes meet of Collectors, police

Chennai, Jun 18 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi convened a two-day conference of District Collectors and police officials on June 19 and 20 at the Secretariat.

Chief Secretary L K Tripathy, in a press release here yesterday, said the conference, to be chaired by the Chief Minister, would begin with his Presidential address.

It would be a joint conference on the opening day, when the law and order situation would be discussed with Director General of Police (DGP), Additional DGPs, Superitendents of Police and District Collectors, Mr Tripathy said.

On the second day, the Chief Minister would discuss the developmental schemes with the Secretaries of various departments, department heads and district collectors, he said.

Besides District collectors and police officials, Ministers and officials, including secretaries of all departments would take part in the conference, the chief secretary said.
