City's doctors take out protest march to condemn murder
Pune, June 18 (UNI) Prominent doctors of the city took out a silent march today, to condemn the murder of senior physician Dr Vijay Ramchandra Ghaisas.
The 66-year-old Dr Ghaisas was done to death with sharp weapons, at his residence at Erandwane on June 16. The march, which started from the Alka Talkies Chowk this afternoon, culminated to Dr Ghaisas's residence at Prabhat Road.
A delegation of doctors, affiliated to the city chapter of Indian Medical Association (IMA), met police commissioner Jayant Umranikar here today and appealed that urgent action be taken to ensure the safety of doctors.
Meanwhile, police are still clueless about the motive behind the brutal murder of Dr Ghaisas.
Dr Ghaisas was cremated today.
