Mother jumps after throwing children into the well

Gulbarga, Jun 17: A 35-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide after throwing her three children into a well in Gundagurthi Village in the district last night, police said today.

They said Devika Sharanappa (35), unable to bear harassment by her husband and in-laws, for the past couple of years, took the extreme step. The bodies of Devika, daughters Ambika (11), Sanjitha (three) and her son Revanasiddappa (five) were fished out of the well. A case has been registered against Devika's husband and her in-laws. Sharanappa, husband of Devika was absconding and a special team has been formed to nab him, police added.
