Moderate quake hits Afghanistan

New Delhi, Jun 17 (UNI) A moderate quake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale hit Afghanistan this afternoon, the India Meteorological Department said.

The quake, epicentred at 36.6 degree N latitude and 70.4 degree E longitude, hit the Hindukash region of Afghanistan at 1335 hrs, the IMD informed.

There were, however, no reports of any casualties.
