UPCC chief accuses Mayawati, her aides of land usurption
New Delhi, Jun 16 (UNI) UPCC president Rita Bahuguna Joshi today charged state Chief Minister Mayawati, her relatives and associates with usurping land on a large scale and demanded a probe by a central investigating agency.
Addressing a press conference here, Ms Joshi said in the last one year, the BSP supremo, her relatives and her party's people had preempted the land of farmers at a large scale in the state.
'' And Chief Minister herself is accused of illegally amassing wealth worth billions of rupees , hence the matter should be investigated by a Central Investigating Agency so that the public can know the truth,'' she added.
Ms Joshi said state agencies on the behest of government were acquiring people's land especially that of farmers on very cheap prices and selling them on higher rates. Areas adjacent to Delhi like Ghaziabad, Noida, Muzaffarnagar and Baghpat were also being targetted for this purpose, she added.
The UPCC president said the Congress would launch a nation-wide stir against it in October but before that the issue would be raised at regional and district level in the state.
The party has urged the state government to bring a law regarding acquisition of land and rehabilitation of oustees in the state. It has also demanded that only in case of great need, pieces of land would be acquired and if the land was fertile then it should be kept out of the acquisition purview, she said.
Releasing the list of 21 ''tainted'' ministers of the BSP government, Ms Bahuguna accused the government of corruption poor law and order situation, and wanted immediate action from the CM as Home Minisry is under her charge.
