Santhosh Madhavan's associate arrested

Kochi, Jun 16 (UNI) The Crime Branch (CB) today arrested a person, suspected to be an associate of self-styled godman Amritachaithanya alias Santhsoh Madhavan here.

CB IG K Padmakumar told UNI that P Gireesh, city-based construction company owner, was arrested for his alleged involvement in Madhavan's land dealings.

''He was picked up for questioning and found that he was the middleman in certain land transactions of Madhavan and later arrested,'' he said.

Gireesh would be produced before a court here tomorrow.

The CB, which was probing into cases registered against Madhavan for allegedly cheating Non-Resident Keralite Sarafin Edwin of four lakh Dirhams and misappropriation of funds and illegal land transactions made under his Santhitheeram Trust, searched the Santhitheeram guest house on June 11 and seized a computer and several documents.
