Rupee gains at 42.85/86 against USD

Mumbai, Jun 16: The Rupee today strengthened at 42.85/86 against US Dollar, appreciated about nine paise from its previous close of 42.94/95 per dollar, on positive cues in stock market. The Indian Currency traded firm against US unit, as the key indices of Indian bourses quoted a sharp surge in the early trade and was trading at 42.89/90 in the mid-morning trade, dealers said.

Dealers maintained that the local unit is expected to remain near the 43.00 level, though the market is witnessing positive move.
