Pawar to inaugurate superspeciality hospital in Nashik

Nashik, Jun 16 (UNI) Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar will inaugurate a new superspeciality hospital here on June 29.

''The superspeciality hospital will be inaugurated at the hands of Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar on June 29. Maharashtra Health Minister Dr Vimal Mundada will be present on the occasion.

Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh will preside over the ceremony,'' said MLA Dr Shobha Bachhav in a release here today.

Built at the cost of Rs 22 crore, the superspeciality facility will cater to the needs of the patients from North Maharashtra, espcially five districts of the division.

Situated on a sever acre land, the 100-bed hospital has various facilities like cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, uro surgery and nephrology, radiation oncology and surgery facilities.

She said Rs 14.27 crore was spent on machinery and another Rs 22 crore under other heads.

The hospital will provide free treatment to below poverty line patients, while others will get concessions in treatment, Dr Bachhav added.

All the facilities will become functional after the inauguration, said Dr A G Sulekha, medical superintendent of the hospital.
