Jeep-tanker collision kills four

Gorakhpur, June 16 (UNI) Four people, including two women, were killed and two grievously injured in a Jeep-tanker head-on collision in the Chauri Chaura area here today.

The incident occurred, when the occupants of the jeep were returning after paying obeisance in a temple, where the oncoming tanker dashed against them, police said.

Urmila Devi (30), Lavanga Devi (55), Vyas Singh (40) and Bholu (12) died on the spot, where as injured were admitted to hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the tanker has been arrested and an investigation under way.
