Haryana Govt. decides to transfer Sarita suicide case to CBI
Chandigarh, Jun 16 (UNI) The Haryana government today decided to transfer the sensational Sarita suicide case to the CBI for investigation.
A letter is being sent to the Centre in this regard, official sources here said.
Sarita, who was allegedly raped by two policemen in Rohtak district, had committed suicide in protest against police inaction by consuming poison at the Haryana Police headquarters at Panchkula, near here, on June 9 last.
Director General of Police Ranjeev Dalal had already dismissed the two cops accused of rape. The Haryana government had transferred Rohtak range Inspector General (IG) of Police Anil Dawra, Superintendent of Police (SP) Hanif Qureshi and area Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dheeraj Malik for ''dereliction of duty'' at the behest of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
Mr Hooda had stated the guilty in the case would not be spared and stern action would be taken against them but regretted that the issue was being politicised by ''certain vested interests''.
