Defraud case against 3 marketing dept officials

Siddharthnagar, Jun 16: A case of defraud was today registered against three officials of a marketing department over the fake purchase of levy rice worth Rs 31 lakh from a private mill in Sant Kabirnagar district of Uttar Pradesh.

Sant Kabirnagar Superintendent of Police Sugreev Giri told the sources ''A marketing officer, a stock manager and a depot in charge were found guilty of fake purchase of 2,520 quintals of rice from Khan rice mill in Mehdaval tehsil.'' Police was yet to make any arrest in the case, the SP added.

Investigation was underway.
