'Abhidyeka Abhishekam' at Tirumala
Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh, Jun 16: The three-day 'Abhidyeka Abhishekam' began today at the Sri Venkateswara Temple here.
Temple priests performed the traditional rituals to Lord Malayappa Swamy, adorned with 'Visesha Vajra Kavacham' (special diamond armour) and his consorts Sri Devi and Bhoodevi amid chanting of vedic mantras.
After the pooja, the deities where taken in a procession through four mada streeets of the temple.
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD)Executive Officer K V Ramanachary, Special Officer A V Dharma Reddy and a large number of devotees offered prayers.All paid sevas, except 'Vasanthotsavam,' were cancelled.
