Woman naxal killed in Chhattisgarh

Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, June 15 (UNI) A woman naxal was killed in a police encounter at Armalmeta forest in Dantewara district of Chhattisgarh today, police said.

A naxalite camp was raided by police this morning. A woman ultra was killed, while other naxals fled. A gun, country-made mortar and naxal uniform and literature were seized from the spot.

Meanwhile, out of the 30 businessmen abducted by naxals from Durgkondal area in Kanker district yesterday, 27 were released this evening.

Three brothers -- Shivprasad Singh, Sanjay Singh and Ramesh Singh -- were still being held captive. Naxals also set up vehicles of businessmen on fire.

Police were making efforts to get these businessmen released.
