Playing an angel in 'Thoda Pyar Thoda Magic' was exciting:Rani
New Delhi, Jun 15 (UNI) Her beatific smile and charming screen presence which has, over the last decade, brought smiles on faces of many a cinegoer across the country, makes her the perfect epitome of an angel descended on earth to make one forget ones sorrows.
It seems that the role of an angel is "tailor made" for Bollywood's most favourite "girl-next-door" Rani Mukherjee, whose infectious and disarming smile and the innocence in her onscreen portrayals in films like 'Saathiya', 'Bunty Aur Bubli', 'Chalte Chalte', Chori Chori Chupke Chupke', 'Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna' and 'Laaga Chunri Mein Daag', has driven away the blues of cine buffs.
No wonder then, for this beautiful actress, her portrayal of "God's angel" bringing love and happiness in the life of a business tycoon and four orphans in her forthcoming film 'Thoda Pyar Thoda Magic' is an experience she will remember forever.
''It is one of the best roles of my life,''said Rani on the eve of the release of the film, directed by Kunal Kohli and another production from the stable of Yash Raj films.
Talking to mediapersons during a visit to the capital to promote her latest film, Rani said,''I have grown up hearing stories that we all have a guardian angel around us. Also, it is always nice to believe and hope for good things to happen in your life. And, there is nothing better that could happen to your life than an angel coming in your life.
Naturally, when I was offered a chance to play one, I was thrilled no end.'' ''I think it is very exciting to fly and see everything from a bird's eye view, which I had a chance to do in the film in the angel's role.
Also, I don't think there are many films where the main lead is played by an angel,''Rani said.
The actress said her role in 'Thoda Pyar Thoda Magic' was vastly different from the characters she had played till now.
''Apart from the fact that I got to fly in the film, my character does not cry as God has instilled her with so much love and happiness that she does not know what sorrow is all about. So, this is the only film where I have not used glycerine. In this sense, it is quite different from all characters I have played till now,''Ran said.
Another different aspect of playing an angel was the physical aspect as she had to get harnessed to be shown as flying in the air.
''Physically, the charcter was a little difficult. After all, getting harnessed is not a comfortable thing,''she said.
Speaking on the subject, Kunal Kohli, who was also present at the press meet, said,''in the film, Rani is always flying around, always on a harness. Then, she used to roller skate on water and put up on a cycle.
