Middle aged man beaten to death in Haryana village

Fatehabad, June 15 (UNI) A middle aged man was beaten to death by six persons at Indachhui village in this district last evening, police today claimed.

Interestingly, the persons who committed the crime went straight to the police station and lodged an FIR of assault against the person who was beaten up.

It was only when a police party reached Indachhui village to take action against the man, it was revealed that he was the victim and has already died of severe beating.

The police has nabbed three accused and begun investigation.

Kamla Devi, the widow of victim Leelu Ram has lodged a complaint with the police that Anil Kumar, his brother Vijender Kumar, Rajbir, Ramdhari Singh, Satbir Singh and his wife came to their residence and called Leelu Ram. When her husband went out they started beating him mercilessly over an old dispute.

The passers-by saved Leelu Ram from the clutches of the accused and took him to a private hospital, where he died.

The police sources informed that Anil Kumar was earlier involved in a case of eve-teasing and Leelu Ram had taken objection to this.

The police has arrested Anil, Satbir and Rajbir and begun investigation after registering a case under sections 304,148 and 149 of the IPC.
