DRDO ready with anti-missile shield's blue print

New Delhi, June 15 : Dr V K Saraswat, top scientist of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) said here that India is planning to develop an anti-missile shield against any conventional or nuclear attack.

The missile shield will have highly sensitive radars to track the incoming missiles, besides an interceptor that can destroy it, said Dr Saraswat.

He added that the guidance system in the shield would ensure that the two missiles collide within a matter of seconds, thereby saving vital targets from destruction.

The missile is absolutely imperative for India to protect populated metros and vital installations like nuclear power stations and oil wells, said Dr Saraswat.
