Bhujbal likely to depose in POTA court

Mumbai, Jun 15: Public Works Department (PWD) Minister and former Home Minister Chhagan Bhujbal is likely to depose before POTA court on Thursday to record his statement in connection with twin blasts of August 25, 2003.

POTA (Prevention of Terrorist Act) court judge M R Puranik has already issued summons to Mr Bhujbal to appear in the court as defence witness in the case.

Defence advocate Sudeep Pasbola is likely to examine him pertaining to press conference held by the minister after the arrest of prime accused Mohammed Hanif in August 2003.

The blasts on August 25, 2003 at Gate way of India and Zaveri Bazar had left at least 50 people dead and several others injured.

Earlier, Mr Pasbola had requested the court to direct the Minister to get along the press note, that was circulated during his press conference, when he comes for deposition.
