Kurukshetra varsity to confer LL.D on Mauritius PM

Kurukshetra, Jun 14 (UNI) Kurukshetra university today decided to confer the degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) (Honoris Causa) on Mauritian Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam, in view of his distinguished and illustrious career, multi-faceted personality and achievements as a statesman.

A decision to this effect was taken in the meeting of the Academic Council (AC) of Kurukshetra University here under the chairmanship of the Vice Chancellor Dr R P Bajpai. The date of conferring the award would be finalised later.

A spokesman of the university said that Kurukshetra University and the Arya Sabha of Mauritius had a tie-up with the KU for conducting BA General examination, BA Hons in Hindi as well as in Sanskrit under the provisions of Foreign Students Examinations of the university.
