Congress to attend June 17 all-party meet

Kolkata, Jun 14: The West Bengal Congress will attend the June 17 all-party meet to discuss the Darjeeling issue.

Talking to UNI here today, Pradesh Congress working president Pradip Bhattacharjee said, '' We will take part in the June 17 all-party meeting, called by Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, but we will not accept any condition. '' ''We want restoration of peace in both hills and plains, but partition of Bengal cannot be allowed under any circumstance. The Gorkhaland issue will have to be solved through discussion, '' Mr Bhattacharjee said.

Commenting on the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) not being invited in the June 17 all-party meet, he said GJM president Bimal Gurung's presence in the meeting would have been better for getting his views.

He said Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi might attend in the meet.
