Chouhan assures journalists' protection
Satna(MP), June 14 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today held out the assurance that the state government would ensure protection to all journalists.
Condemning incidents of preventing mediapersons from discharging their duties, the Chief Minister said nobody should put hurdle in the working of journalists.
He was talking to working journalists at the airstrip here with regard to the police personnel assaulting and misbehaving with journalists engaged in news coverage of a demonstration relating to a Dalit youth's murder in Sohawal area here on June 9.
To protest the incident, the journalists have been boycotting all government programmes, including the Chief Minister's visit here on June 11. The Chief Minister's talks with the journalists was held in this context.
A police inspector had also been line attached in connection with the incident, which was being probed into by an Additional Collector.
