AP farmers to organise statewide agitation on June 19
Hyderabad, June 14 (UNI) The farmers in Andhra Pradesh will organise statewide agitation on June 19 to pressurise the government to hike Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy in the state.
Talking to newspersons after a meeting with Chief Minister Y S Rajasekahra Reddy on remunarative price for Paddy, State 'Ryotu Sangham' President K Ramakrishna said the Chief minister was not responded positively on their demand.
Stating that they were unhappy over the Chief Minister's response, Mr Ramakrishna said all farmers' organisations would participate in the agitation.
Pointing out that the Tamil Nadu government had announced Rs 1,000 as remunerative price for Paddy, he alleged that the Andhra Pradesh government had not increased the price even after a resolution adopted in the Assembly in this regard.
