All India Open FIDE Chess tournament from July 19
Mangalore, June 14 (UNI) More than 400 Chess players including 20 International Chess Masters, world title holders and FIDE Masters can be seen vying for top honour in the All India Open Fide Rated Chess Tournament, organised by the South Kanara District Chess Association (SKDCA) from July 19 to 26.
Announcing this at the press conference here today Association President M S Gururaj said that Grandmaster Praveen Tipsey, World Grandmaster Bhagyashree Tipsey, International Masters M S Sudhakar Babu (TN), Saptharshi Roy (WB), Konguvel (TN), Lanka Ravi (AP), D V Prasad (Kar), Himamshu Sharma, Roktim Bondopadhay (WB), B T Murali Krishna, Nimmy George (Ker), National Under nine champion Harshal Sahi, N Sanjay, B S Shivananda, Gopalakrishna, Manasa, Gahan M G Stany (Kar) who would participate in the tournament which carries a total cash prize of Rs 2.5 lakhs.
He said that there would 11 rounds with two hours each and the tournament would be conducted as per latest Fide rules.
