Lucknow, Jun 13 (UNI) Hearing a petition challenging probe into Samajwadi Party (SP) general secretary Amar Singh's piece of land in posh Gomti Nagar area of the Uttar Pradesh capital, a Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court today directed the state government not to take any action on the basis of inquiry report.

''As the case is still pending with Supreme Court (SC), the state government should not take any action into the matter,'' the Bench, comprising Justice S N Shukla and Justice Shiv Charan Sharma said.

The SP general secretary had filed petition against investigation into his Vipul Khand situated land by principal secretary S R Lakha.

However, the state government had termed the petition ''baseless'' as the inquiry had been completed.
