Rupee gains at 42.82/83 per US dollar

Mumbai, Jun 12: Rupee today gained about four paise at 42.82/83 against US Dollar from its previous close of 42.86/87 per Dollar after the Reserve Bank hiked repo rate.

The Indian unit edged higher after the central bank raised repo rate by 25 basis points to 8 per cent yesterday, however dealers said gains may be capped due to a rise in oil prices and a weak stock market.
