RIL dedicates check-dam to Nani Khavdi village
Jamnagar, Jun 12 (UNI) Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has dedicated a check-dam to the people of Nani Khavdi village in the district.
The check-dam was built at a cost of Rs 21 lakh under the principle of ''village's water for use of the village''.
RIL sources said the village was in the shadow of RIL Jamnagar refinery's marine facilities. Now, the Nani Khavdi village can straight collect the rain water in the check-dam, which has the capacity to collect water upto 2.40 lakh cubic meters.
Village sarpanch Pradeepsinh Jadeja expressed his happiness and said it would be a boon to otherwise water-deficient region. He expressed gratitude that the check-dam was ready before onset of monsoon, sources added.
